I go through an SEO slump 2 or 3 times a year. Then, suddenly something happens to fuel the fire in me again, and I like what I do again. And yes, the blog communities can be overly tight, but sometimes it's because people get into a routine of only reading the same blogs, and never get around to venturing out. Yesterday was the first time I'd ever heard of Eric's blog, and I was all excited to read something new. It's in my feedreader now, and I'll likely be linking out to it in the future. I just leave the power grabbing to the kids who like to play with the power. For my blog, it's just me trying to pass out information.
