Find domains on the same IP
Posted on February 19, 2007 - Filed Under Tools | 7 Comments
As a competitive search engine optimizer you might want to do a quick check on what other sites your competition might have on the same IP address.
Link Vendor offers a free Domains from IP Tool that completes this task.
Type in: seobuzzbox.com (and the ID) and you will find my two other sites, then look around at the domains of your friends and competition.
Note: Shared IP addresses can have hundreds of sites so don’t think that all those listed are ones owned by the same company or individual you are checking.

This is a great tool, one of the first things I look at is if a site has a dedicated IP or not. Even in their isn’t anything wrong with the other sites on the same IP, what prevents a new one from hurting you down the line?

Ah! I’ve been looking for a tool like this for a while… I used one a long time ago, but it seems they all disappeared.
I’m actually about to write a follow-up post to this with my findings.. I’ll link back to your post.
Thanks Aaron!

You can use MSN/Live.com to find all the hosts on an IP address.
Here is an example using your site:
ip:216.227.217.163

kurt – I can’t get that to work in live, do you have to be a registered user and use IE or something?
