Google Hot Trends Experiment

Posted on May 22, 2007 - Filed Under Google News |

Here is my take on Google Hot Trends, people will look to monetize phrases found within hot trends by writing new content. What this will do is create an even larger Adsense network that will focus marketers more on what people are actually searching for. So in a way, Google Trends could clean rather than clutter the internet as MFA (Made for Adsense) sites had in the past.

I learned from “hot trends” that the Kenmore 16237 is a popular grill so I could offer a review of this item from my home and garden site to generate a little more traffic.

Are you providing exactly what your visitors are looking for?

Sorry, bro, but I gotta disagree with you here.

All it would take is a Google API key and an idiot with enough time on his hands to build a bot to auto-query Google for a bunch of keywords and phrases that may be hot phrases and build an MFA site around those. This is going to be a problem.

Maybe hot trends could be used to weed out a few imposters then? :)

That is, unless Google has thrown quality out the window for monetization.
