Ahmed- I can understand your points as they are valid, but I am not looking for someone to like me. I have friends and family. Also I do not think I am asking for attention, nor implying that I deserve it. I did not say all people are ignoring new people, I said some.

1) not enough time, so you stick to what you like - and the a-list generally stays on the list because they know how to be interesting enough to be liked

2) getting more 'quality' participation - even if it is from radically different perspectives than ours - should be encouraged, so we rely on 'filters' that scour the news to present to us.

An example of no.2 is SEW, SEL and SER.

Attention is scarce and far too many bloggers, getting equal attention means that not everyone gets enough attention and the benefits are somewhat lost. So people choose.

In any such environment the good will rise and then naturally protect themselves by strengthening their following (herd). If you want to get to the top (topple them, beat them, match them, whatever), you have to build your own following, your own herd.

What are we doing about this right now? Are you actively finding, reading and linking to one new SEO blog a day?

If you want to be read, then you have to be interesting and you have to attract attention. That's the way it works best - asking for attention or saying that you deserve it won't help. And if it doesn't work the first time, then try again.

Love this post, I am a long way from being made but I think it is an excellent attitude to have, I can relate to it in a way, I try to post in all of the diffrent seo forums and read as many different SEO blogs as I can in order to get as many different points of view as possible, just because one guy is made I will not take their word as gospel and just because another guy isn't I will not disregard the persons point of view.
