spamming the gray areas of algorithms weaknesses... for example, it used to be easy getting #1 position in Google via "link building", now (and in future algorithms) earned organic links that are editorially chosen will have more weight.

Do not think that Google does not know what an artificial and organic link neighborhood is. They will pretty much be able to determine "intent" algorithmically in the coming years...

Pretty basic stuff that Matt Cutts and others have been hinting to forever. This advice if followed ensures future success, to continue to follow bad advice from the SEO thought leaders and not try out this stuff is foolish.

For more look <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=earned+organic+links&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official" rel="nofollow">here</a>.
